Nancy Oken-Redfield, Executive Board Member

Nancy Oken-Redfield, currently the Vice President of Camps, for Western Camps, Inc. has a proven Public Relations background. She is a highly qualified professional with a BA and Teaching Credential in Physical Education with a Health Addendum. Six of the eight years Nancy taught and coached at the High School level, she also served as the Leadership Advisor with Los Angeles Unified School District.

Working across various roles in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Organizational Development and Staff Training in the Education sector, Nancy has served on the Board of Directors at Western Camps, Inc., Advisory Board for the California Institute for Family Business and a Board Member of the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. She has been an integral part of the Organizational Development and Strategic Plan for Western Camps, Inc. dba Wonder Valley Ranch Resort and River Way Ranch Camp, Wonder Valley Outdoor Education, Family Camp, Champ Camp, Camp Taylor and MDA Camp. Nancy has dedicated her life to teaching, coaching and mentoring staff and management teams to achieve extraordinary results with students K-12 and at the University level. 

With ongoing community involvement and education for youth development, Nancy is currently mentoring the third generation of the family business to understand the importance of establishing Community Relations as well Staff Recruitment and Development and Sales and Marketing. During the World Wide First Robotics Competition (FRC) Nancy offers her support to the Trade Tech High School Robotics Team and has employed students participating from various schools for the technical departments of her family’s business.

Awards and Recognition include ranking as one of the top residential children’s summer camps in the United States by the American Camping Association 1967-2016 and awarded California Family Business of the Year 2008 as highlights. Her youth programs have also been recognized as First 5 Fresno County Child Friendly Business, Los Angeles Mom’s Best Award and Highly Accredited by the American Camping Association.
